In recent years, Bundesdruckerei has developed from a traditional security-printing company to an internationally acclaimed lighthouse for new processes and solutions in the field of secure identities. According to the company, this required enormous effort in terms of in-house research and development as well as networked commitment in interdisciplinary future projects. Through successful involvement in various research projects, sponsoring the first chair for “Secure Identity” in Germany and its initiative for establishing subject-specific future labs in co-operation with Fraunhofer Gesellschaft, Bundesdruckerei strengthened its role as a technology driver in the field of high-security technology. ID People spoke to its CEO, Ulrich Hamann, the driver behind this progressive development.
